Notes from Atlanta

Unlike my Baltimore trip I haven't found any ballroom dancers. Instead I'll leave you with a whole bunch of random stuff.

If I ruled the world there would always be breakfasts at conference. At this conference they told us they were serving continental breakfast in the agenda... but apparently continental breakfast means "coffee". Seriously? SERIOUSLY! Needless to say I dropped my stuff off in the room and was 30 minutes late because I had to dig up some food. It is bad enough not to serve breakfast, but to fool people into thinking there will be breakfast is just so wrong.

When I'm alone in hotels sometimes I take the Gideon bible out of the drawer, read it for a minute, pray a little and then snuggle into my duvet and sleep with the bible next to me. I know this is dorky at best and a weirdo superstition at worst but I'm a dorky weirdo so who cares? It makes me feel safe and secure and comforted when I'm far from home. This particular bible had a note tucked into it that said "John 3:16 Jesus died for you. :)" I smiled thinking of the person who left the note, it is very much something I would have done when I was in high school.

I like staying in fancy hotel rooms and all the little details make me happy. This hotel has a beautiful courtyard and an amazing feather bed. I love the crisp white sheets and the round glasses of water.

Last night we went to Flip Hamburger Boutique which is owned by former Top Cheftestant Richard Blais. Arnold and I went to his other restaurant last year. Flip was really awesome, I had sweet potato french fries with bleu cheese foam. So light and amazing. Plus, I had... wait for it... a Nutella and toasted marshmallow milkshakes. The milkshakes are frozen with liquid nitrogen instead of ice so they are incredibly light and creamy. And of course... we all know I love Nutella.
