In case I didn't mention this previously, the reason that we are coming on this Panama trip is to do a family documentary about my Grandmother's formative years growing up in the canal zone. My Mom's side of the fam has some serious canal history. My great-grandfather was one of the engineers, my great uncle helped build the railroad and my Grandmother lived her till she was 20 when World War II started. As part of the docu I've been doing interviews with my Grandma every night to get her stories recorded. It's been a lot of fun and reminded me of my high school years when I lived with my Grandma and we talked every night before I went to bed. Last night she told me a story of how her cousin oiled up a cat and then stuck him in a buffet cabinet as a joke. When her Grandma opened the cabinet to set the table the cat jumped out and scared the crap out of Great Grandma. Good times Good times!
